FARMINGTON, N.M. ─ The Bureau of Reclamation announced a $9.7 million contract award and intent to solicit for several contracts in the coming weeks for construction of key infrastructure features of the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project’s San Juan Lateral in northwest New Mexico. Once complete, the project will provide a long-term sustainable water supply from the San Juan River, in the Colorado River Basin, to the eastern section of the Navajo Nation, southwestern portion of the Jicarilla Apache Nation, and the city of Gallup, New Mexico. PAGE, Ariz. – The Bureau of Reclamation completed the recoating of the river outlet works at Glen Canyon Dam and Powerplant—more than two months ahead of schedule and on budget. WASHINGTON — The Bureau of Reclamation announced an investment of $1.1 million to the Colorado River Indian Tribes to assess the Colorado River Indian Irrigation Project. The funding will assist the tribe to review existing infrastructure and identify necessary maintenance. Hyrum Dam and Reservoir Road Closure – Public Notice
HYRUM, Utah - The road atop Hyrum Dam, W 300 South, will be closed starting June 2, 2025, while crews construct a new spillway before demolishing the existing one. The road will remain closed to all traffic until construction is completed, which is anticipated to take 3 to 4 years. Road detours will be clearly marked. Navajo Dam Road reopens for recreation season
DURANGO, COLO. – New Mexico Highway 539 over Navajo Dam, located about 45 miles east of Farmington, New Mexico, is now reopen to traffic, as of May 14, after being closed for drilling operations. Traffic detours and/or road closures are expected to resume in late-2025 after peak recreation season is over. Read More »
